NEW! SENSORY STORYTIME
Sept. 30th, Nov. 4th, Dec. 2nd @ 1 pm – 2 pm

Hear familiar stories and enjoy sensory-enhanced activities with squishy sand, play-doh, duplos, music and more. Open to all families looking for a smaller, adaptive library setting and especially appropriate for kids who may be on the autism spectrum, have sensory processing issues, or feel overwhelmed by noises or crowds. Prior sign-up required.

Fall Children’s Programs 

Sept. 15th: International Dot Day
3:45 pm – 4:30 pm
All ages are welcome to come color, create and paint in honor of Peter H. Reynolds’ classic, The Dot. This beloved book tells the story of a girl who begins a journey of self-discovery after a caring teacher challenges her to make her mark.

Sept. 16th: Elephant & Piggie Party with Miss Anita
1 pm – 3 pm; storytime at 3:15 pm

Miss Anita is retiring after 20 years! Come celebrate Miss Anita with stories and cake. Elephant & Piggie will help serve cake from 1 pm-3 pm, followed by a storytime in the Children’s Department at 3:15 pm.

Sept. 19th: Pirate Day
10:30 am – 11:30 am (ages 3 – 5 yrs.)
1:30 pm – 2:30 pm (ages 3-5 yrs.)

Sept. 23rd: Create a Peanuts Gang Decoration
2 pm – 3 pm, for kids 5+
Come create a hanging decoration of Snoopy, Woodstock & Charlie Brown. Prior sign-up is required.

Oct. 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th: <Coding for Kids>
4:30 pm – 5:30 pm, for students in grade 4-6.

Kids will create their own video games using SCRATCH. No experience necessary. Students should bring their own laptop. Registration required.

Oct. 21st: Create a Creepy Tiny Town
1 pm – 3 pm
Color, decorate, cut & construct a tiny town.  Make a Creepy Town or a Winter Holiday Town. This craft requires fine motor skills for coloring with pencils or fine-tip markers, cutting small parts, paper-folding & glue/taping. Call ahead or stop-in to sign-up.

Keep an Eye on Our Guinea Pigs!

BROWNIE BEATRIX SQUIGGLY (the big one) and COCONUT MARSHMALLOW CUPCAKE (the white and tan one) love having visitors. They are both girls and like to snack on all sorts of healthy things like Italian parsley, green beans, dark lettuce, spinach, carrots and carrot tops, and apples that people bring them. Please no celery or peppers.
