On Monday, June 22, 2009 Arne Duncan, US Secretary of Education visited the Fanwood library to celebrate summer reading and libraries and to help kick off President Obama's 'United We Serve' Summer of Service volunteer initiative. The Secretary met with NJ librarians and read to a group of children. He was joined by NJ Governor Jon Corzine and many other state and local dignitaries.
