Virtual StoryTimes

We’ve added two brand new stories for July…
For kids 18 months – 3 years old it’s “Peter’s Chair” by Jack Keats

And for kids 3 – 5+ years old (one of my personal all time favorites… and yes, Natchez loves this one too!) The Library Mouse: Home Sweet Home by Daniel Kirk

The first one for kids 3 – 5+ years old was The Little Fireman by Margaret Wise Brown… (another of our favorites)

And for kids 18 months – 3 years old it was The Snatch a Book: Who’s Stealing All the Stories by Helen and Tom Docherty

Are you missing storytime at the Library? We miss you too! We want to keep you reading books, so we’ve found some great ways for you to continue to listen, learn and have fun, right here online…

#Kidlit Rally for Black Lives

Award-winning authors Kwame Alexander, Jacqueline Woodson and Jason Reynolds organized a Kidlit Community Rally for Black Lives that was hosted on The Brown Bookshelf FaceBook Live. The hope was to provide a space to speak to children about this movement, answer their questions, and offer ideas about how to go forward. If you missed the live event, you can see the recording HERE.
